Meredith Quill was the mother of Peter Quill. She was once in a relationship with Peter's father, but left Meredith pregnant with Peter but promised to return. Meredith gave birth to Peter in 1980 and died of cancer in 1988. She made Awesome Mix Vol. 1 for Peter to own, which includes her favorite songs.
